Research on the Affecting Factors of Landless Farmers’Land Acquisition Will Based on Logistic Model
|
Abstract:
The process of urbanization has a broad and deep impact on farmers who live in the urban-rural area, and land acquisition is a necessary part of the process of urbanization. Therefore, it is necessary for us to study the farmers’land acquisition will and the factors that affect the will. As a metropolis of the middle region and the core city of the Wuhan City Circle, Wuhan plays an important role in boosting the development of the entire middle region as well as Wuhan City Circle. Therefore, we have selected Wuhan as the representative area of our research. The related data about land acquisition in this paper are obtained through structured interviews of 251 sample farmers who come from 28 villages in the urban-rural areas of Hongshan District, Jiangxia District, Xinzhou District, and Dongxihu District of Wuhan city and their lands have been expropriated in recent five years. The land acquisition will can be divided into the will of the overall land acquisition, the will of land acquisition proportion and the will of land acquisition purposes. In this paper, we analyzed the influencing factors of landless farmers’land acquisition will mainly using binary logistic regression model . The result indicates that the top five factors affecting farmers’ land acquisition willingness are degree of dependence on arable land before land acquisition, satisfaction of the families’living conditions before land acquisition, the rationality of land acquisition compensation, the impact of land acquisition on the family economy and the impact of land acquisition on employment. The first two variables have negative impacts on the land acquisition will, while the other variables have positive impacts. In order to carry out land acquisition smoothly, the local government ought to further improve the standard of compensation for landless farmers, take a more reasonable compensation method and minimize the contamination or damage on the local rural environment as far as possible. To maintain the living standards of landless farmers, the local government should improve the employment and entrepreneurship environment and guide the farmers towards the path of sustainable livelihoods.
