MAIN RESEARCH ORIENTATION FOR PROTECTION AND UTILIZATION OF BIODIVERSITY
|
Abstract:
Biodiversity, a term all-embracing in organic world, refers to the extent of abundancy and evenness of species (including animal, plant and microorganism)in an ecosystem, a region and even the Earth. It either implies the complex interaction of organisms and that of organisms and environment or acts as an important indicator judging whether a regional development planning accords with objective law. The basic characteristics of biodiversity can be dealt with and analyzed in terms of three different levels of genetic diversity, species diversity and ecosystem diversity. The study of different levels is of course closely interrelated. The focus of the paper is to introduce- present conditions of biodiversity, strategic ideas of its study, objectives and major research content with the aim of arousing the attention of pertinent agencies to initiate studies of this field.
