ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT WITH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN CHINA

Abstract:
In the 45 years since 1949,China's agricultural production has gained sustainable developed,but it became slowed down in recent years.The problems onfarmers'feed and clothing have been basically solved,yet they have not got ridof poverty.Agroenvironment got improved in most agricultural regions but deterioration occurred in some non-agricultural and hilly areas,and serious problemson resources and environment still remain to be coped with.China's future agtricultural development is at the crossroads.Intensive sustainable agriculture is thebetter way out towards agricultural modernization in China.Science and technology play an important role in promoting sustainable development of agriculture.Three sustainabilities should be adhered to in future agricultural development.
