THE STRATEGIES OF AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN NYINGCHI PREFECTURE OF XIZANG AUTONOMOUS REGION

Nyingchi Prefecture in the east of Xizang Autonomous Region, straddling the lower reaches of Yarlungzangbo River, has the advantage of humid and semi-humid climatic resources compared with the rest areas in Xizang. So, the potentiality of exploitaing the agro-climatic resources is great. Further, the situation of the economic reform and merket economy of China provide a new opportunity and option of the agricultural development for the Region. Two mouths survey of last year made a lasting impression on the authors, and for the purpose of causing a heated discussion on the agricultural development. This paper, based on the discussion of the agricultural background of the Region, put forwarded all of the five strategic problems of agricultural development in this Region.
