ased on four-year investigations concerning local vegetable production andwork on experimental fields in Dalad Banner of inner Mongolia, prospects onvegetable production of the area covering the period of 1995-2010 were inferredaccording to population development trend of various banners of the same period. In the light with current situation and future trend of vegetable productionin China, protected areas devoting to vegetable production for the years of 1995,2000, and 2010 of the study area are suggested which can thus reach the indexset forth by the State vegetable basket project. In order to realize the goal, thepaper puts forward locational pattern for developing vegetable production of thearea as well as administrative measures.
