A STUDY ON MODEL AGRICULTURAL RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT IN RED EARTH DOMINATED HILLY AREA

The red earth hilly area in South China constitutes one of the important integrated agricultural areas in China Although it has favorable biophysical and climatic conditions,traditional development model of valley agriculture dominated by crops limited the overall effective development on special agricultural natural resources and deteriorated eco environments Therefore,the only way out of this situation for agriculture in this area has to concentrate ont only on cultivated land in valleys but also on slopingland and hilly areas which account for over 70% of the whole area The stereoscopic ecological agricultural was considered as an optimal model for agricultural resources development in red earth dominated hilly area in the study.
