AGRICULTURAL LAND SUITABILITY EVALUATION:MODEL AND SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION -A CASE STUDY OF PANZHIHUA
|
Abstract:
Using fuzzy mathematics method, we improved the FAO's classical AEZ evaluation model on the basis of research of land evaluation's theory, method and trend. It is indicated the improved model encompasses more enriched and precised information than the conventional one. The spatial, temporal and crop variety's resolution of the improved model is enhanced. In the AEZ evaluation, the GIS technique was also applied. An information system which has basic functionality of agricultural land suitability evaluation was developed in the study. User can input any crop's growing requirement, artificial intervention conditions, and adjust expert grading conveniently in the system. It can be used extensively on the work of agricultural land suitability evaluation in any region, especially mountainous area. Using this system, the authors applied the improved AEZ model in Panzhihua, Sichuan Province and compiled land suitability evaluation maps of the major crops. The result of the evaluation proved the algorithm and system to be effective.
