ON COMBINED CHARACTERISTICS AND COUNTERMEASURES FOR THE EXPLOITATION AND UTILIZATION OF MINERAL RESOURCES IN MIDDLE REACHES OF THE YANGTZE RIVER
长江中游地区矿产资源组合特征及其开发利用对策

The middle reaches of the Yangtze River occupy an excellent locational and resources development condition. The region is quite essential to China because of its affluent mineral resources and wellcombined characteristics, especially those of the ferrous metal, nonferrous metal, chemical minerals and building materials. A set of material industrial bases of iron and steel, nonferrous, chemical and building material industry, which are important to China and the Yangtze River, have been established and developed gradually. On the basis of analyses of the combined characteristics and exploitation and utilization of mineral resources in the area, a series of measures for the exploitation, resources conservation, resourses expansion, investment and trade, resources protection, etc. are put forward in this paper.
