TECHNIQUES AND STRATEGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE LAND USE OF ACID SULPHATE SOILS
酸性硫酸盐土的可持续利用技术及对策

The acid formation processes and their controlling factors in acid sulphate soils (ASS) , the techniques and strategies for sustainable exploitation of ASS are discussed in this paper. It points out that the degree of acid hazards in ASS are mainly involved in three processes: the oxidation of pyrite(FeS\-2),the neutralization of soil buffering system and the transportation of acid materials with water into environment. The techniques for sustainable land use of ASS are summarized , including the control and management of water,soil fertility improvement and cultivation and planation.Finally,a series of strategies are put forward concerning enhancement of surveys,legislation,planning,investment,construction of irrigation projects and experiments,demonstration and extension of the successful techniques for the sustainable land use of ASS.
