TRANSFORMING THE PATTERN OF ECONOMIC GROWTH AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Based on the idea and strategic target of sustainable development,this paper focuses on the study of the ongoing transformation of economic growth pattern in China.Extensive growth,which often causes resources waste and environmental deterioration is essentially non sustainable.However,intensive growth has the connotation and possibility and basic conditions for the realization of sustainable development.Given the actual conditions of China,the realization of the transformation of the economic growth pattern should attach importance to the following two aspects:one is the advancement in science and technology,the other is human resources.The former can offer solutions to the restriction of resources and environment for economic growth,while human resources,in comparison with natural capitals and man made capitals,serve as the more fundamental,more effective driving force for the realization of sustainable economic development.
