PRESENT CONDITIONS OF LAND USE AND ITS STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT IN QIAOJIA COUNTY,YUNNAN PROVINCE
云南省巧家县土地利用现状及其结构调整

Qiaojia County, situated by the Jinsha River, is a typical mountain region in northeastern Yunnan Province. The current irrational land use structure is a result of cultivation practice over a long period of time in history and higher population pressure. On the basis of land use analysis and taking long-term economic development strategy as a target, the paper puts forward land use structure of the county and determines the adjustment scheme of internal structure related to various land use types for the year 2010.The three major characteristics identified for land use adjustment are 1 to reduce cultivated land area but raise per unit area productivity; 2 to enlarge forestland area and increase ecological protection benefits; and 3 to reclaim wasteland resources and improve land use rate.
