DISTRIBUT10N OF EPHEDRACEAE RESOURCES AND THEIR RATIONAL UTILIZATION IN HORQIN GRASSLAND OF CHINA

Ephedraceae can be used as forage, medicine, and nectar sources. It can alsobe used to maintain ecological balance. Horqin Grassland abounds in the richest ephedraceae resources in China. However, because of differences in geographical position and climatic conditions, ephedraceae appears a zonal distribution from southeast to northwest, a drop of constructive species to accompanying species, till vanishes. The pressing task at present is to adopt effective measures to publicize and educate people to protect ephedraceae resources, to effectively coordinate among departments of management, production and scientific research, and to unify development and protection for the purpose of providing ephedraceae with idealenvironment for reproduction and propagation.
