Shallow Groundwater Resources and Water Salinity Control in Yinchuan Plain
|
Abstract:
On the basis of clarifying the laws of shallow groundwater formation and distribution, the 3-D finite definite model is firstly employed to calculate the volume of groundwater resources, recharge and discharge structure and available amount of water. The traditional means of evaluating salt damage and calculating drainage-division ratio with total salt are argued and replaced by the method of harmful salt. Through water salinity balance calculation, it is revealed that the irrigated area has been in a desalinization status in the past 30 years. The idea of regional water amount control in Yinchuan irrigated area is put forward. Nine division/drainage alternatives for different planning years are simulated. Suggestions concerning Yellow River diversion amount and groundwater exploitation in different areas with different alternatives are given.
