Effect of Horizontal and Vertical Resolution on WRF Simulation of the Unusual Rainfall Event in Xinjiang

The Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) is used to simulate unusual rainfall event over Xinjiang during 5-7 October 2000, and the effects of model's horizontal and vertical resolution on the unusual weather events are investigated in detail. In principle, the model is able to characterize the spatial distribution of unusual weather.
