The signification and urgence of investigating flaws and damages of cases in oilfield development are introduced. The advanced tools to inspect flaws and damages of cases,such as tools of Schlumberger, Halliburton, Atlas, Sondex and Russia, from aspects of acoustics,caliper,optics,and electromagnetics,are discussed and the principle and the specification of each tool are presented in detail. Overall,all tools have been employed in domestic oilfields and some have been imported.
