Distributing on the web Database of Chinese mineralogenetic belt of mineral resource based on ArcIMS and ArcSDE

Database of Chinese mineralogenetic belt on mineral resource is fundamental information of mineral resource assessment. It synthesizes the objective, useful and dynamic data of mineralogenetic belt from geographical, geophysical, geochemical, remote sensing ones and so on. Using ArcSDE, these data are imported into or exported from Microsoft SQL Server, and distributed on the web by ArcIMS. This paper first specifically described the data structure of database under ArcIMS and ArcSDE architecture, and then introduced an example to explain how to use ArcIMS and ArcSDE reasonably.
