THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROTECTED AREAS IN HAINAN PROVINCE

f the 78 reserves with a total area of 2.66 million ha in Hainan Province,68 are terrestrial with 140 000 ha,occupying 4.28% of the total land area of the province.It can be said that authorized departments concerned have given attention to the construetion of protected areas for their network has been formed. The achievement is really remarkable.Problems also exist as their management level greatly lags behind actual requirements.The paper mainly deals with the nature and way of development of some important reserves and proposes some suggestions for effective management.
