STUDY ON MODELS FOR APPROPRIATE UTILIZATION OF LIMESTONE HILLS IN GUANGXI

odels for appropriate utilization of limestone hills are discussed based upon the analysis of characteristics of the landforms of this kind. Relevant models are identified as: the model of planting timber trees, fruit trees and medicinal herbs,the model of planting wood-forage-plants, the model of planting bamboos,the model of planting wood-grain-plants, the model of planting fibre plants, the model of planting wood-oil-plants, the model of planting hard timber trees, the model of planting medicinal trees,the model of planting lianas, the model of preserving hillsides for reafforestation, etc.. The utilization of the limestone hills with the aid of these models can well gain economic, ecological and social effects, and provide the effective ways of getting rid of poverty and becoming rich for the people in the limestone region of Guangxi.
