PREDICTION ON LAND DEGRADATION AND CONTROL IN CONTIGUOUS AREA OF JIN-SHAN-MONG
晋陕蒙接壤区土地退化及其治理预测

Five types of land degradation are identified mainly in soil and water losses,wind erosion and desertification, grassland degradation, secondary salinization-alkalization, and soil impoverishment in the study area. Computations on integrated land evaluation values reveal that total land degradated area covers 21955. 25square kilometers in 16 counties, causing great economic losses. In the study,control predictions consisting of key control area and general control area are suggested including control target, focus of control, control measures, and investment for control.
