Hilbert-Huang transformation and ELF signal processing

Abstract:
Hilbert-Huang transformation is a self-adapted signal processing method developed in resent years for dealing with non-linear and non-stationary signals. This method has been used in many research fields of non-linear and non-stationary signal processing. This paper briefly introduces the basic realization principles and algorithms of Hilbert-Huang transformation and confirms its validity by simulations. By analyzing the actual data examples, we discuss its application to ELF signal processing and noise suppression. It is found that using the HHT method in frequency domain filtering can effectively suppress the noise of ELF signals and significantly improve signal quality.
