FEATURES OF SOIL NUTRIENT LOSS ACCOMPANIED WITH RUNOFF AND SEDIMENT FOR THE PURPLE SOIL DISTRIBUTED AREA IN SICHUAN PROVINCE

Environmental issues resulted from soil nutrient loss has caught increasingly concerns within international researchers. Since literature concerning China is very limited, it is meaningful to research the features of soil nutrient loss. The main effort of this paper is devoted to the features of soil nutrients loss accompanied with runoff and sediment for the purple soil distributed areas in Sichuan Province. The result shows that the main way of the soil nitrogen loss is the loss accompanied with the runoff, and mainly with subsurface of base flow. It also indicates that the main way of the soil-P loss is with sediment; and the nutrient content in sediment is of enrichment, but different enrichment ratio with different catchments and rainfall; With regards to the enrichment ratio of N and P, it is related to the sediment concentration.
