The Scandinavia Ozone Loss and the Surface Heating

Analysis on TOMS ozone shows a clear ozone loss, -50 DU (15% of the total ozone), over the Scandinavia. The seasonal ozone loss has the maximum -54 DU in January and the minimum 1.9 DU in July. Correlation analysis on the ozone loss and the surface-air heat fluxes showing high correlation coefficients indicates that the possible mechanism of the Scandinavia ozone loss can be the upward mass transfer due to the surface heating.
