Application of wave impedance inversion to reservoir prediction research
|
Abstract:
With steady development of exploration, further exploration and second evaluation to old oil-gas field have become an important issue. In this aspect, we need to study how to discriminate metamorphic and clastic reservoirs, and reduce the effect certainties in the wave-impedance inversion as much as possible, which can help enhance accuracy of reservoir predication and success rates of drilling. For the prediction of two kinds of reservoirs aforementioned, wave-impedance inversion can make full use of available data, such as borehole, logging, oil tests and other static and dynamic measurements. It can help probe geological bodies in the subsurface, find rules of reservoir distribution in vertical and horizontal direction, and provide evidence for well deployment and reserve estimation.
