The inner structure of the moon
|
Abstract:
In this paper,we review the history of the observation on the moonquakes and summarize characteristics of the moonquakes. Then,we conclude one whole model of the inner structure of the moon and basing on it,we introduce how to determinate lunar crust and lunar mantle using lunar seismological observations in details.Later,we point out that for the lack of seismological observations at the depth below 1100 km,up to the present there is no available evidence concerning the existence of a lunar core.So we expatiate on the probability of the existence of lunar core.Paying attention to the latest research of the inner structure of the moon and give the composition and radius for the existence of lunar core: the radius of the lunar core could be as much as 352 km if iron and 374 km for the Fe-Fes eutectic compositon.
