THE FATIGUE LIMIT ESTIMATION METHODS FOR ALLOY STEELS AND ALUMINUM ALLOYS
|
Abstract:
Based on the mechanical properties of twenty- seven alloy steels and aluminum alloys, the theoretical fatigue limits are analyzed with three methods. It is found that in the three methods only two can give a proper estimate of the fatigue limits. Moreover, when the relationship among the strength coefficient, the strain- hardening exponent and the mechanical properties is considered, the two methods can be used to estimate the fatigue limits from the conventional mechanical estimation may be lifted. properties.
