Seismo-tectonic features and their effects of the earthquake prediction in China-Mainland
|
Abstract:
eismo-tectonics is the carrier in which earthquakes develop and occur, and is also the foundation of earthquake prediction.Seismo-tectonics in China-Mainland is characterized by the apparent division. They have own law on seismic activity in every division,so it is difficult for those divisions to be included in the unified active or calm periods of earthquakes. The seismic activity is consensus with the fault activity in every region. For example,Eastern and Western China are different from each other by about one order in activity of the faults and by one order in frequency of the great earthquakes.Earthquakes are not only related to active faults, but they are also related closely to seismo-tectonic blocks. There is no causality between precursor anomaly and earthquakes. There may be the accompanying or twin relation between them. Both are the result of active tectonics. In this paper,we studied the relation of typical seismo-tectonic block, mainly seismic rupture and seismic fatalness. The result shows that major earthquakes mainly occur in the western part of China in the future within some period,We should note especially that earthquakes may progress from the west to the east along margin fault zones in the south and north margins of Tarim block. In Sichuan Province and Yunnan Province,Xianshuihe-Anninghe-Xiaojiang fault zone and its adjacent area should be concerned. In the eastern part of China-Mainland,there may be some middle earthquakes occurring along Bohai-Zhangjiakou-Hetao fault zone and Tanlu fault zone.
