DIFFERENCE SCHEMES FOR INITIAL-BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS OF FIRST ORDER HYPERBOLIC SYSTEMS AND THEIR STABILITY

Abstract:
In this paper we systematically discuss somep problems on numerical solution of initial-boundary value problems of first order hyperbolic systems in two independent variables.Some difference schemes adaptable to any initial-boundary value problems are presented.We prove under very weak conditions that some of these schemes of initial-boundary value problems with variable coefficients are stable to initial values and boundary values and that the difference equations are well conditioned.some of these schemes have been applied to solving some complicated practical problems.For applications of these schemes, readers are referred to work 16].
