SUPERCLOSE ANALYSIS OF BICUBIC HERMITE ELEMENT ON ANISOTROPIC MESHES

Abstract:
The bicubic Hermite finite element is applied to fourth order biharmonic problem on anisotropic meshes,and the same convergence and superclose behavior as that of on the con- ventional regular subdivision are obtained through some new ideas and techniques.Moreover, the corresponding numerical examples are given to verify our theoretical analysis.The re- sults show that the regularity condition is not necessary to the conventional finite element analysis,thus they are helpful to further develop the self-adaptive algorithm and posterior estimates.
