An Approach to the Developing Ways of Tribology in China
关于我国摩擦学发展方向的探讨

The current developing situation of Tribology is summarized based on an outlined analysis of the coverage, classification, and amounts of the academic papers presented in the three important international conferences on Tribology held since the new millennium. It is pointed out that the research subjects in the international tribological circles today are still friction, wear and lubrication, while most of the research work is closely combined with the industrial application background. Surface engineering, Micro and Nano tribology, Tribology in magnetic recording systems, Biotribology, and Ecological/Environmental Tribology have aroused more concern. Based on the above analyses, three developing ways of tribology in China in the coming years are put forward.
