A CLASS OF ARBITRARILY CONVEX QUADRILATERAL ELEMENTS FOR SOLVING NAVIER-STOKES EQUATIONS BY NONCONFORMING ELEMENTS

Abstract:
In this paper, by use of integration of boundary as degrees of freedom, a class ofnonconforming arbitrarily convex quadrilateral of elements for solving Navier-Stokesequations are constructed, and perfect error estimation is obtained. At the same time,a group of nonconforming rectangular elements are presented using integration ofboundary as degrees of freedom. These elements are simple in construction and quiteeconomical in storage. Finally, a numerical example using these rectangular elements isgiven. The numerical results are satisfactory.
