DOMAIN DECOMPOSITION METHODS FOR IMPULSIVELY STARTED FLOW AROUND A CIRCULAR CYLINDER
|
Abstract:
Impulsively started flow around a circular cylinder is solved by the domain decomposi-tion method for the Poisson equations and by the random walks and the vortex in the cell me-thod for the vorticity equation in the subdomains. Vortices are introduced around each sub-surface at each time step to satisfy the zero-slip condition. In the range of Reynolds numbers550 to 3000 and time 0 to 5, numerical results show reasonable agreement with the flow-vi-sualization experiments.
