ASYMPOTICALLY EXACT A POSTERIORI ERROR AND LOCAL SUPERCONVERGENCE FOR THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD

Using local superconvergence results, the asympo tically error estimation for the finite ele-ment method are developed. The numerical results show that the estimators given are sa-tisfactory and reliable.
