CLASSIFICATION:WITH SEVERAL DEPENDENT VARIABLES AND STEPWISE REGRESSION ANALYSIS

In this paper,the author gives a new method of stepwise diseriminant analysis, where the technique of stepwise regression for more than one dependent variable is applied to the diseriminant-regression model.Thus it brings forth several groups to be classified step by step.On the other hand tbe author proves that in terms of selec- ting variables,the new method is equivalent to the stepwise discrimina'nt analysis based on the Wilks-A criterion,which has been proposed in the recent ten years.With tiffs method both the computed time and the central memory storage are considerably saved.
