Tribological Properties of Steel Surface Textured by Laser under Lubrication

Abstract:
Friction and wear of 45#Steel surface textured by YAG laser was investigated under different lubrications.The patterns of surface texture were circular,groove and crossed grooved depressions with different texture span.Steel run against SiC ball lubricated by paraffin and engine oil was tested in reciprocating mode.The Stribeck curves in the experimental conditions was obtained.The friction coefficient of textured surfaces was higher than polished surface if Hersey number was small.With increasing Hersey nu...
