Current State of Tribological Application and Research of Mo Compounds as Lubricating Materials

Abstract:
The current state of the tribological application and research of molybdenum disulfide in bonded film, plastic based and metal based composites, and lubricating oils and greases is briefed. The tribological behaviors of several oil soluble organic molybdenum compounds as lubricating oil/grease additives are introduced as compared with MoS 2. The promising tribological application of MoS 2 nanoparticles capped with some organic compounds is highlighted.
