Risk assessment on severe hazards to China caused by West Nile virus

Recent West Nile virus epidemics in USA draw worldwide concerns. Here the basic biological and epidemi- ological features of the virus are analyzed along with the special immunity of humans and animals, the immigration of birds and the natural environments in China. The risk of severe hazards to China caused by West Nile virus is assessed not high thereafter.
