Quantized synchronization for a class of chaotic systems

Abstract:
This paper investigates synchronization for a class of continuous chaotic systems with information constraints. A general chaotic master system and its observer-based response system are connected through a limited-capacity communication channel. A proper quantization scheme is designed such that the synchronization error caused by the transmission error is input-to-state stable (ISS). Meanwhile, the transmission error decays to zero exponentially. This indicates that the synchronization error converges to zero asymptotically in a communication channel of limited capacity. A simulation example is presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
