Dynamic bandwidth-allocation for networked motion control systems
|
Abstract:
To improve the static allocation of the limited bandwidth in networked motion control systems, we propose a dynamic bandwidth-allocation method based on the control-performance and the current network status. Under the constraint of the minimal available bandwidth of all loops, the residual bandwidth is optimally allocated by the user-defined cost function. This maximizes the system performance by minimal bandwidth consumption. Three typical bandwidth allocation schemes are given respectively for the equilibrium status, the disturbed status and the maximal-demand status. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm.
