Employment of cooperative relaying and network coding in vehicular networks
|
Abstract:
For vehicle users, the file sharing and content distribution through roadside APs as well as the vehicular ad hoc networks has been an important complement to that through cellular networks. However, the unique characteristics of vehicular networks such as the fast changing topology and the lossy nature of the links have brought many challenges to the network connectivity and capacity. In this paper, we propose to combining cooperative relaying and symbol-level network coding to improve the network connectivity and data transmission efficiency and robustness. In order to validate our mechanism, we have implemented extensive simulations, of which the results demonstrate its effectiveness in terms of Bit Error Rate and throughput.
