Analysis for the Inter-domain Routing System Based on Cellular Automaton Model

Analysis of the macroscopic routing behavior of the inter-domain routing system remains a difficult challenge because the inter-domain routing is a very complex system with very large scale. We proposed an inter-domain routing simulation model based on cellular automaton model to study the collective routing behavior of the inter-domain routing system. Our work reveals that the model can succeed in exploring the macroscopic routing behavior of the inter-domain routing system. Simulation results show that some undesired macroscopic routing behavior tend to arise when a smallpart of the generally well behaved nodes' unstable routing behavior is widespread over the whole network.
