Haptic display is the technology that communicates information through haptic stimulus.The research background,history and current status of haptic display were firstly introduced.The main research areas of haptic display were showed.Based on the analysis of the current research and application,the development trends about haptic display applying in man-machine interaction were described.Finally an overview of prospective development of this area was given.
