Simulation-based Performance Evaluation of TCP Protocols for High-Speed Long Distance Networks
|
Abstract:
Recently, there are some new transmission control protocols for high-speed long distance networks have been presented, so a real need has developed for systematic evaluation architecture. In this paper we present a systematic and repeatable evaluation manner, and a serials of performance metrics and simulation benchmark were defined. The NS2-based simulation experimental results evaluating the performance of the High-Speed TCP, Scalable-TCP, FAST TCP BIC-TCP, and H-TCP proposals were presented. The results demonstrate that consistent application of performance metrics and standardized simulation benchmark can yield results of considerable value.
