New Multicast Routing Algorithm Based on Network Coding

Network coding is a new algorithm first presented in 2000. Its main advantage is allowing the multicast transmission rate reach theoretically limits. This paper introduced the traditional multicast routing algorithms' limitation, an alyzed the existing network coding algorithms' benefits and disadvantages,and based on an existence improved mathe matical model of network coding,implemented a static distributed layered network coding (SDLNC) algorithm. Simulation results show that this algorithm can significantly improve multicast routing data transmission rates.
