The Design and Implementation of a Route Monitoring and Analysis System

BGP and OSPF are two protocols widely used for inter-and intra-domain routing.Their working states have deep influence on network performance.This paper designs and implements a general route monitoring and analysis system.The system collects routing information in real-time,and parses the information to automatically generate inter-and intra-domain topology.The system generates history topology graphs so that users can easily browse and compare them.It also analyzes the routing convergence and stability based on the statistics of the collected routing information.With the help of these convenient functions,network administrators can manage the real-time state of a routing system and take the corresponding operation.
