Availability Analysis of iSCSI-Based IP Storage Wide Area Network

With the increasingly development of remote disaster-tolerance, content distribution and data grid, there is a crucial need to extend the scope of data storage from LAN to WAN. The IP-SWAN system model based on iSCSl pro- tocol is proposed in the paper. The availability analysis of IP-SWAN is made with a novel metric for availability, the probability of task completion. The analysis results show that the probability of the whole system task completion is approximately 99.7% when the number of tasks reaches a million.
