A Survey and Prospect of Signaling in the Next Generation Mobile Internet

Along with the development of mobile internet,it cries for a general signaling platform with good scalabili- ty, which can not only implement signaling existed in the stationary networks, such as resource reservation and fire- wall configuration, but also can be adapted to mobile networks. In this paper, we have a survey on the existing re- search harvest of mobile IP technologies, and also trace the latest status of IETF NSIS working group. Based on the related research work, we have a discussion on some typical issues about signaling in the next generation mobile inter- net, and have given some possible solvents. At last, we present a prospect of the future research and development trends of signaling in mobile internet, and these can become our future research framework and groundwork.
