Abstract:

A multilayer framework of optical transport network and its optimal model for traffic grooming is proposed in this paper. The multilayer network involves IP, SDH and WDM layers. The logic topologies of IP and SDH layers are constructed by the optimal model based on the given traffic demand matrices. Traffic flows that have different request bandwidth are carried by the links with various bandwidth granularities. Our proposed optimal model aims at maximizing the network throughput, in which the correlative constraints between links on different layers, links and traffic flows are defined. The validity of this model is proved by using LINGO optimal software to solve the model un- der different network configuration.
