A Load Balance Based MANET Routing Protocol and Improvement

Under the condition of a heavy loaded network, the existing mobile ad hoc routing protocols suffer a rapid performance drop. In this paper, we design a bandwidth estimation model and a load balance mechanism, and combining with AODV we propose a new routing protocol. Considering the latency factor, we further improve the protocol. Simulation shows that the new schemes improve packet delivery ratio, reduces average end-to-end latency and decreases routing overhead.
