Hybrid Dynamic Adaptive Routing Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract:
In this paper, a hybrid routing sensor network model is proposed which combines plane routing and hierarchical routing seamlessly. Hierarchical routing is adopted in data acquiring stage while plane routing is used in data transmission stage. A new hybrid dynamic adaptive routing (HDAR algorithm is proposed, based on the hybrid network model. HDRA utilizes a dynamic clustering scheme to complete data gathering and the aggregated data is relayed to the sink node through paths generated by adaptive route selection algorithm. Simulation results show that HDRA is able to save energy, as well as balance energy dissipation evenly throughout the sensors.
