A Categorical Research Method for Cache Invalidation Strategies in Mobile Computing Environments

Cache invalidation schemes are an attractive approach for mobile computing environment . To affirm the validity of mobile host' cache content, servers periodically broadcast cache invalidation reports that contain information of data that has been updated. In this paper, we reexamine the issue of designing cache invalidation strategies and propose a categorical research method for cache schemes. Based on this method, many improving schemes can be constructed.
